Do good. Feel great. Volunteer!

Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.

  • Become a voice for children in foster care as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. Evening and Saturday training begins Jan. 16. Contact Kids Matter at adam@kidsmatterinc.org or (414) 344-1220.
  • Market and manage sales of chess books using Ebay and other venues and connect with book collectors. Contact Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Federation at wscf@wisconsinscholasticchess.org or (262) 573-5624.
  • Toys are needed for Curative Care’s toy lending library to be used in therapy for their Birth-to-Three Program which provides services to young children with disabilities. Contact lmorowski@curative.org or (414) 479-9297.
  • Set up, serve meal, hand out gifts and clean up at a holiday party at Running Rebels Community Organization 4-7:30 p.m. Dec. 20. Contact volunteer@runningrebels.orgor (414) 316-5222.
  • Check in guests, hand out gifts and load gifts into their cars at Sojourner Family Peace Center’s holiday party Dec. 22. Contact lilyg@familypeacecenter.org or (414) 810-1826.
  • Donate shampoo, conditioner and soap for children and adults with disabilities; drive runs until Dec. 31. Contact Life Navigators at amanda@lifenavigators.org or (414) 774-6255.
  • Help with admissions and manage the dance party and balloon drop at Family New Year's Eve celebration the evening of Dec. 31. Contact Friends of the Domes at domesvolunteer@gmail.com or (414) 257-5600.
