Do good. Feel great. Volunteer!

Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.

Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukeefeatures both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.

  • Prepare and serve breakfast to those who are hungry and homeless 7 to10 a.m. weekdays; groups and individuals welcome. Contact The Gathering at angela@thegatheringwis.org or (414) 272-4122.
  • Mentor a small group of high school students on building good, personal money-management habits weekdays February-May; training Jan. 5 or Jan. 26. Contact SecureFutures at kristen@securefutures.org or (414) 273-8101.
  • Help with set up, organization, registration, decoration, food preparation and clean-up at various special events for the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center. Contact hgutierrez@mkelgbt.org or (414) 271-2656.
  • Answer phones, update donor spreadsheet, send out thank you letters and other clerical tasks weekdays for USO Wisconsin. Contact joshsova@usowisconsin.org or (414) 763-2214.
  • Review and provide feedback on the usability of a website for Optimist Theatre/Shakespeare in the Park; a list of questions to research and record your observations will be provided. Contact ssfry@optimisttheatre.org or (262) 498-5777.
  • Visit with, play games or take strolls around the nursing home/assisted-living facility with hospice patients in Milwaukee County. Contact Heartland Hospice at emilee.high@hcr-manorcare.com or (414) 944-2000.
