Here are a few ways to volunteer and make a difference in our community.
Volunteer Milwaukee, a service of the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee features both one-time and ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Here are a few ways to help.
- Dylan's Run/Walk for Autism - Check in participants, staff start and finish line, assist with parking, and more at Dylan's Run/Walk for Autism Sunday, Sept 10. Sign up here for Autism Society of SE Wisconsin.
- Sexual Assault Hotline - Answer the crisis line and provide information/intervention to victims of sexual trauma. Training is Sept.26 - Oct.7; 6-month commitment. Contact Aurora Healing and Advocacy Services at nicole.glaser@aurora.org or 414-219-5228.
- International Friendship Program - Enjoy the company of a Marquette University international student with monthly activities; great for families. Complete application by Sept. 15 for International Friendship Program. Contact eli.marten@marquette.edu for questions.
- Celebrate the First Day of School - Welcome students and families as they arrive on the first day of school in the morning at a Milwaukee Public School near you Tuesday Sept. 5. Sign up here.
- Goodwill Sale Donation Collection - Accept clothing donations and distribute discount coupons at an area Boston Store, Sept. 13-30 for Goodwill Industries of Southeastern WI & Metro Chicago. Sign up here.
- Milwaukee Film Festival - Take tickets, distribute and count ballots, assist at will call and direct people in line for movies at Milwaukee Film Festival September 28-October 12.Contact volunteer@mkefilm.org or (414) 755-1965 ext. 210.
