MILWAUKEE, WI — Area firefighters will be putting their muscles to the test, as they compete in a fire truck pull to help provide winter coats for children.
On Sat. Sep. 30, Milwaukee Firefighters, Local 215 will be participating in the second annual Hero's Haul Fire Truck Pull, a team strength competition in which participants work together to pull a full-sized fire truck.
The event, which will be held at Milwaukee Brewing Company, 613 S. 2nd st., will help provide winter jackets for children in need through the nonprofit Operation Warm.

“The fire truck pull was created last year after bringing in several firefighters for a focus group brainstorm,” D’Esposito said. “One of the Milwaukee firefighters came up with the idea for a fire truck pull and we ran with it.”
“Anyone can participate, it’s all about teamwork and achieving a goal — the same philosophy it takes to make a difference in a community. An individual may not be able to move a firetruck but a team of people could move it with ease,” John Litchford, Deputy Chief at Milwaukee Fire Department, said.
Community members are encouraged to attend, cheer on their favorite teams and donate to help support Firefighters for Operation Warm. Food, beer, music and raffles will be present during the event.
