Fog, Rain Could Continue With Possibility Of Snow Thursday: NWS

Far southeast WI may expect an isolated thunderstorm Wednesday afternoon. A dense fog advisory is in place into the evening, NWS reports.

WISCONSIN — Dense fog that may impact driving conditions in southeast Wisconsin is expected to continue into Wednesday afternoon, with rain showers continuing at times throughout the day and a chance of snow coming Thursday morning, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

An isolated thunderstorm is also possible in far southeast Wisconsin Wednesday afternoon, NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan reports.

The dense fog advisory is set until 7 p.m. Wednesday in southeast Wisconsin, with visibility limited to 1/4 of a mile. NWS recommends leaving plenty of room when driving and ensuring use of headlights.

Thursday morning in southeast Wisconsin could have rain until about 8 a.m., at which point a combination of snow and rain may be expected until about 10 a.m.

In the north of the state, a wintry mix that may at times bring hazardous roadways and freezing rain or drizzle is expected to tail off through Wednesday afternoon, with possible snow accumulation and possible power outages or trees downed in areas of highest ice accumulation, The NWS forecasted for north-central and northeast Wisconsin.

Roads may become at times hazardously slippery in the northern regions of Wisconsin Wednesday until temperatures warm, NWS Green Bay reports.

Here's the National Weather Service forecast for southeast Wisconsin into Thursday evening:

Wednesday

There is a likelihood of rain to continue before 1 p.m. and after 4 p.m. Fog will remain in areas, but after 4 p.m. the fog is expected to become more patchy. A high of 52 is expected. Cloudy skies are expected to continue.

In the evening, rain showers and patchy fog are likely until about 12 a.m.

Thursday

There is a chance for rain showers to continue before 8 a.m. Between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., snow may combine with the rain showers. After 10 a.m. the rain has a chance of continuing. A high of 42 is expected with cloudy skies to continue.

In the evening there will be a slight chance of rain and snow before 1 a.m.
