Freaky Sad: Armed Robber Hits Marquette University Jimmy John's; Also Real Chili

MILWAUKEE -- A popular sub shop known for "freaky fast delivery" and a Milwaukee-area landmark diner were hit by an armed robber Monday, and police have video of the suspect as they try to track him down.

Milwaukee Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery at the Jimmy John’s, 1532 W. Wells Street, around 10:35 p.m. on December 5, 2016.

The suspect entered the restaurant and demanded money from the cashier while implying he had a weapon. The cashier gave the suspect money and the suspect fled on foot westbound on W. Wells Street.

The same suspect is believed to be responsible for an attempted strong armed robbery at the Real Chili at 419 E. Wells Street a few minutes before the robbery at Jimmy John’s. In this case, the suspect demanded money but the cashier refused and the suspect fled without obtaining anything.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 40’s, approximately 6’ tall, with prescription glasses and wearing a pea coat, scarf and blue jeans.
