'Hard Freeze' In Forecast For Milwaukee Area: WI Weather

MILWAUKEE — The National Weather Service is warning residents about the potential for a hard freeze across the state next week.

Lows in the Milwaukee area will drop to 28 degrees by Sunday night. The low on Halloween is currently forecasted at 27 degrees.

A freeze warning has been issued for the counties of Marquette, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Sauk, Columbia, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Iowa, Dane, Jefferson, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Lafayette, Green, Rock, Walworth, Racine, and Kenosha.

Here's the week-ahead NWS forecast from the Milwaukee Airport:

Friday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog between 1pm and 3pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 57 by 5pm. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Friday Night: Isolated showers before 7pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 36. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 10%.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 46. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Saturday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 40. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 46. North wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 28. Northwest wind around 15 mph.
