Man Missing Since Christmas Eve Found Dead: Police

After two weeks, police found the body of a missing man miles away from where he was last seen, and dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Police in Milwaukee say a 33-year-old man who was last seen on Christmas Eve and was reported missing was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds on Milwaukee's north side.

Police say that Antwone Berry was last seen at the Dirty Dozen Clubhouse near Rose Park in the Riverwest neighborhood on Christmas Eve.

Police say officers were dispatched to a report of a deceased person at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7 in the 9800 block of W. Fond du Lac Avenue. Police say a man was found deceased outside at that location and pronounced dead by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner. Authorities then identified him as Antwone J. Berry. The scene where he was found was miles away from where he was last seen, according to map data.

Police say their initial investigation revealed Berry suffered from gunshot wounds. An autopsy will be performed to determine a cause of death. Milwaukee police say they are investigating the incident as a homicide and continues to seek suspects.
