Man Robs 3 Girls at Gunpoint; Caught with Criminal 'How-To' Guide He Wrote

MILWAUKEE -- A man accused of robbing three teenage girls at gunpoint was caught with something additionally disturbing: a how-to guide to robbing at gunpoint and burglarizing a home.

David Blake-Gasper, 19, has been charged with two counts of armed robbery. If convicted, Blake-Gasper could face up to 50 years behind bars.

According to his criminal complaint, three teenage girls - all high school students - went to an apartment on the 2600 block of N. 60th St. in Milwaukee to buy marijuana.

When they arrived at the address, a man later identified as Blake-Gasper returned to the living room waving a semi-automatic handgun and pointing it at the girls.

Blake-Gasper ordered the girls to put their money and cell phones on the able before yelling for the girls to get out of his house, the complaint stated.

According to the complaint, the girls fled the residence, and later contacted police about the incident. The girls reportedly found Blake-Gasper's profile on Facebook, leading them to the identification and arrest of Blake-Gasper.

A Criminals' How-To Manual

Further, officers recovered a spiral notebook with “David Gasper” written on the cover. Inside this notebook contained a “how to” manual for committing robberies.

The manual outlines tips for committing various types of crimes. Below is an excerpt he wrote himself, outlining “tips” for various types of offenses:

"The Home Invasion"

  • 3-5 guy job
  • House looks vacant like people aren't there
  • Townhouses (poorly secured sliding doors
  • If 5 have 2 lookout
  • Make sure the electronics don't have engravings
  • Look for notes indicating people are gone (mail/ads/things on doors)
  • Get someone (sales person) so we can know who's home, who's not and layout of the house
  • Look for helpful tools we could use somehow (pry bars, big screwdrivers, hammers)
  • Wear clothes you stole
  • Look for garbage cans out (like no one brought them back up)

"On Street Robbing"

  • 2-3 Guy job
  • Gun to back of head
  • "Take off your pants"
  • "Walk until you hear me otherwise"

Blake-Gasper is currently being held on a $20,000 cash bond in the Milwaukee County Jail.
