Milwaukee Ballet's Nutcracker Featured at Milwaukee Art Museum
Characters from the Milwaukee Ballet's Nutcracker will be on-hand at the Milwaukee Art Musem to interact with children.

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Milwaukee Ballet and Milwaukee Art Museum are partnering for two holiday events this year.
On Sunday, Dec. 2, performers from Milwaukee Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker will join visitors at the Milwaukee Art Museum for Kohl’s Art Generation Family Sundays: The Joys of Toys.
From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m, families can explore the Museum’s special exhibition Serious Play: Design in Midcentury America for ideas to make their own toys. The Nutcracker’s toymaker, Drosselmeyer, will be onsite from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to perform magic tricks, along with various characters to meet and greet families, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Elaborate costumes featured in the ballet will provide the inspiration for the puppet-making activity, one of the many hands-on art projects offered throughout the day.
The Milwaukee Art Museum’s roving studio, Kohl’s Color Wheels, will be at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts for the opening of The Nutcracker on Saturday, Dec. 8. Families arriving for the premiere matinee performance of The Nutcracker can make their own tops and ballerina ornaments from 1 to 2 p.m.
