Milwaukee Bucks Make Major Trade Tuesday Morning

The Milwaukee Bucks have made a splash in the trade market Tuesday, acquiring Eric Bledsoe from the Phoenix Suns.

MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee Bucks have made a major splash on the NBA trade market early Tuesday, agreeing acquire Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe in exchange for center Greg Monroe and a first-round pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Monroe was acquired by the Bucks as a free agent before the 2015-16 season. A gifted scorer near the basket, Monroe's struggles on defense were well-documented, and resulted in the loss of his starting job midway through the second year of his three-year contract. Monroe is in the third year of a three-year contract and is making $17.8 million this season.

In Bledsoe, the Bucks get a talented point guard to run with Giannis Antetokounmpo and a host of above-average three-point shooters. Bledsoe is scheduled to make $14.5 million this season and $15 million next season.

The trade is subject to each player passing their physical examinations, according to Wojnarowski.

Bledsoe made headlines earlier last month when he tweeted "I don't want to be here," shortly after the Suns fired their head coach Earl Watson three games into the NBA season. Bledsoe was subsequently fined $10,000 by the NBA.
