Milwaukee Bucks Make Trade Ahead Of NBA Deadline

MILWAUKEE, WI -- The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly made their first trade ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline.

According to Clutchpoints.com, Milwaukee has sent the little-used forward/center to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for small forward Stanley Johnson.

According to reports, Maker's agent approached Bucks management about exploring a trade so he could get more playing time. During the 2018-19 season, the 2016 first-round pick was a regular fixture on Milwaukee's bench.

In Johnson, the Milwaukee Bucks get someone who was mired in a similar role as Maker. Drafted in 2015, Johnson served as a role-player in his four-year tenure. His playing time on the Pistons appeared to diminish over time. “Would he play better, be more efficient and shoot the ball better with more opportunity? Of course,” Pistons Head Coach Stan Van Gundy said in a 247Sports.com report.

The 2019 NBA trade deadline is Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m CDT.
