Milwaukee Businesses Fundraising For Families Of Shooting Victims

MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee community is rallying together to help the survivors and families of the Molson Coors shooting. Several businesses are holding fundraisers in the wake of the shooting and the county has opened a 24-hour crisis line.

Five people were killed in a shooting at the Molson Coors Beverage Co. headquarters in Milwaukee Wednesday. The shooter, identified as a 51-year-old Milwaukee man who was a brewery employee, was also found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

Milwaukee County has opened a 24-hour crisis line to residents who need support following the shooting. Staff will man the crisis line for the next few days, trying to offer support to anyone who calls. The number is 414-257-7222.

Several area businesses and institutions are also starting fundraisers for the families of those injured or killed during Wednesday's shooting.

The Keep the Faith fund is giving supporters a chance to download a song in return for a monetary donation. All donations to the fund will go to families affected by the shooting.

The Heart Revival Center for Belonging will host a yoga class at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Participants will be encouraged to donate to families affected by the shooting during the class. All donations will be given to those families, according to the center.

Wisconsin Harley-Davidson announced it will collect donations to aid the families. Their campaign will continue through March 31. In addition, $1 of all Miller Coors beer sold during the company's St. Patrick's Day celebration will be donated to families of victims.

"Milwaukee is a close-knit community, and when one of us hurts, we all hurt," the company said on Facebook. "Today we all hurt."

McBob's Pub & Grill said on Facebook that staff will donate $1 from every Miller Coors product sold to families of the victim. All of the pub's St. Patrick's Day breakfast donations will also be donated to the families of victims.
