Milwaukee Man Charged In Fatal Carjacking: Police

Police in Chicago say a 21-year-old Milwaukee man has been arrested and charged in a carjacking and fatal crash last week.

CHICAGO, IL — Police in Chicago say a 21-year-old Milwaukee man has been arrested and charged in a carjacking and fatal crash last week.

Police say that Deangelo Williams and an accomplice staged a carjacking of an 88-year-old man in Chicago on Wednesday just before 10 a.m. in the 1000 block of W. 61st St.

According to a Chicago Tribune report, police say Williams and his accomplice donned masks and robbed the elderly man at gunpoint. They drove away with police in pursuit, only to crash their stolen vehicle in the 4900 block of S. Wentworth several minutes later.

Media reports indicate that the driver died at the scene. Williams has been charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, one count of armed robbery and felony murder.
