Milwaukee Police Department Off-Duty Officer Involved In A Battery Incident

The off-duty officer is a 32-year-old male with over 13 years of service. The incident is ongoing and is being investigated by MPD.

On Sunday, April 19, 2020, at approximately 7:40 a.m., the Milwaukee Police Department responded to a battery complaint on the 4500 block of W. Cleveland Avenue involving an off-duty Milwaukee Police Officer.

The off-duty officer was involved in an altercation with a known subject. When responding officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 25-year-old man from Milwaukee, who was unresponsive. The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The off-duty officer was not injured.

The off-duty officer is a 32-year-old male with over 13 years of service. Per Milwaukee Police Department’s Standard Operating Procedure, the officer has been placed on administrative duty.
