Milwaukee Sheriff's 'Operation Drive Sober' Bags 7

Three repeat offenders and four first-time offenders were arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Seven people were arrested during the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office's Operation Drive Sober campaign, which moves to target drivers under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. The operation ran from 4 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday.

The average blood alcohol content was .16, a press release from the sheriff's office says.

Four of those arrested were first-time offenders:

  • Davi Gonzalez, 32, of Milwaukee
  • Candanisha Bishop, 30
  • Josephine Yang, 27
  • Jesus Perez, 64

The sheriff's office says they have dealt with 1,961 repeat offenders since 2010. Three of those arrested were repeat offenders:

  • Hurley Jones, 37, of Milwaukee (third offense)
  • Tracy Ramsey, 42, of West Allis (third offense)
  • Orlando De Jesus-Medina, 52, of Milwaukee (second offense)

"These drunk drivers averaged over twice the legal limit on their PBT results. What are they thinking? People who plan to go out and drink need to plan ahead. Take a cab or use a ride service app, ride the bus, or designate a sober driver. Drive Sober, Slow Down, Stay Alive!" Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt said.
