The Labor and Delivery Unit expansion is the second phase of a larger project to update Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Women’s Medical Center. The first phase, completed in 2016, was the renovation of the Postpartum Unit. Future phases will include expansion of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Postpartum Services.
Design of the new Labor and Delivery Unit was led by Ascension Wisconsin providers to incorporate the latest clinical practice guidelines and was informed by patient focus groups to meet the unique needs of expectant mothers and their families. Generous community gifts to the Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation supported the expansion of the new Labor and Delivery unit and women and infants community outreach programs.
