NWS Releases 2023-24 Winter Outlook For Wisconsin: How Much Snow?
The National Weather Service released its 2023-2024 winter outlook. Here's what Wisconsin can expect for December, January, and March.

MILWAUKEE — Wisconsin residents can prepare for a drier and warmer winter than normal, according to the National Weather Service's three-month seasonal outlook.
The seasonal temperature outlook shows that the Milwaukee metro area has about a 50 percent chance of above-normal temperatures. The northeastern part of the state has a 60 percent chance of above-normal temperatures.
Meanwhile, the north and eastern side of Wisconsin has a 40 percent chance of a drier-than-normal winter. Southwestern Wisconsin has an equal chance of above and below-normal precipitation.

But skiers and snowboarders hoping for a snowy winter can find hope from the Farmers’ Almanac forecast, which says the Upper Midwest could be in for an especially "cold" winter, with "average snow."

Tuesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. High near 68. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
