Officer, Suspect Both Shot By Police Officer: Police
Police are reporting that the officer who fired the weapon is a 21-year old man with less than a year of experience.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A Milwaukee police officer and a suspect were injured on Thursday, Jan. 18 when an officer discharged his firearm when called to a domestic disturbance.
According to Milwaukee police, officers responded to a call regarding an armed man in the 600 block of S. Hawley Road. When police arrived, they reported being confronted by a suspect who was armed with knives.
Milwaukee police say that during the incident, an officer fired his gun, striking the suspect in the leg, and an another officer was accidentally struck in the foot by gunfire.

The suspect, a 48-year old Milwaukee man, suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg, and was treated at a nearby hospital, before being turned over to police, according to Milwaukee police.
Police say the injured officer is a 25-year-old man with five-and-a-half years experience. He suffered an injury to his foot and was treated at the hospital.

Police are reporting that the officer who fired the weapon is a 21-year old man with less than a year of experience who was assigned to the same unit as the 25-year-old officer. The 21-year-old officer has been placed on administrative duty, based on department protocol. The Milwaukee Police Department's Metropolitan Investigations Unit is investigating the incident.
