Patch Guide To Wisconsin State Fair 2021: Previews And Updates

MILWAUKEE, WI — The Wisconsin State Fair will return in 2021 with some adjustments due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Here's a quick guide to the Wisconsin State Fair this summer.

Hours

The fair will start Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., in West Allis. The fair will continue until Aug. 15 and be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day except Sundays, when the hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the fair website

Admission, Parking And Transportation

Admission and parking will be cashless this year, according to the website. Visitors can pay for admission tickets and parking in advance through the state fair website.

Parking lots will open at 10:30 a.m. every day, according to the website.

Shuttles from the Milwaukee County Transit System and from Waukesha County to the Wisconsin State Fair won't operate this year, according to the website.

Rides And Games

All rides and games in SpinCity, the fair's amusement ride and game area, will require radio-frequency identification, or RFID, passes and wristbands for contactless payments for every game and ride. Credits and credit packs to play and ride will be available at booths and kiosks.

What's Closed This Year

Some fair attractions will remain closed for the 10-day event. The Milwaukee Bucks Milk House won't open, though the team will continue its partnership with the fair, according to the website. Blue Ribbon Brownies and Colossal Cookies, both produced by Original Cream Puffs, won't be available either.

Souvenir cups won't be sold this year to reduce the spread of communicable diseases, according to the website. Vendors won’t refill souvenir cups from previous years.

The Activity Stage in the Expo Center won't return in 2021, according to the website. The 2021 Junior Amateur Talent Competition won't run this year either, it added.

Mask Guidance

Masks won't be required though visitors are encouraged to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance, which is for unvaccinated visitors to mask up before entering, according to the website. There won't be a capacity limit on the 200-acre state fair park, it added.
