Planned Parenthood Opening New Clinic In Milwaukee

The new facility, and Planned Parenthood's Madison clinic will be the two locations where they will offer abortion services in Wisconsin.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Planned Parenthood is opening its $8 million state-of-the-art health clinic in Milwaukee next week, according to company officials.

According to a news release from Planned Parenthood, their latest center is located at 435 S. Water St. and opens next week.

A Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report indicates that when the new facility, located at 435 S. Water St. opens, Planned Parenthood will stop treating patients at its Jackson Street location. The new facility, and Planned Parenthood's Madison clinic will be the two locations where the organization will offer abortion services in Wisconsin.

Planned Parenthood will use the Jackson Street facility as administrative offices.

Tanya Atkinson, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin said the center was made possible through generous community support.

According to a Planned Parenthood release, “thanks to the volunteer leadership of Edie Brengel Radtke, Lynde Uihlein, and Marianne Lubar, individuals across Wisconsin have stepped up to secure the future availability of Planned Parenthood’s services.”

Atkinson stated that the new Milwaukee clinic continues her organization's continuing mission to provide health services for women. "For more than 80 years, Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin has been here for women during some of the most important moments of their lives, and we're proud to build on that legacy."

Planned Parenthood currently has 19 other clinics in Wisconsin, and served 59,762 patients in 2016 and. They provided 3,889 abortions, according to Planned Parenthood statistics.
