Pools, Splash Pads, Beaches: Where To Cool Down In Milwaukee County

Here are some ways to beat the heat with water as high temperatures continue into Wednesday in much of southeastern Wisconsin.

MILWAUKEE, WI — As southeastern Wisconsin's heat wave continues into Wednesday, and students in many parts of the Milwaukee area find themselves on summer break, pools, splash pads and beaches across the region are expecting visitors.

While a nationwide lifeguard shortage is also being felt by Milwaukee County, leaving certain beaches without lifeguards and other parks closed altogether, there are still plenty of watering holes around the region that are open.

Heat index values are expected to remain as high as 99 into Wednesday in the Milwaukee area, with temperatures in the 80s expected Thursday, the National Weather Service forecasts.
