Rash of Gun Violence Leaves 2 Dead, 8 Injured in One Weekend

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee's disturbing trend of gun violence continued over the weekend after eight people were injured and two were killed by gunfire over the weekend.
Below is a map indicating when and where each incident took place. Descriptions provided by Milwaukee Police are below.

Two Injured in October 17 Northwest Side Shooting
Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 12:15 a.m. on October 17 in the 3300 block of N. 43rd Street. Two adult males were shot when they confronted another male in the alley behind their home. The subject fled the area on foot. The victims, ages 38 and 46, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Suspect Arrested in October 16 Northwest Side Shooting
The Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 2:20 a.m. on October 16 in the 5100 block of N. 31st Street. The 23-year-old female victim was approached by a female suspect as she was seated in her auto. It is believed at this point that they had argued earlier inside a nearby nightclub. The suspect produced a firearm, shot the victim, and then fled the scene in an auto. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in very critical condition. A 22-year-old female suspect was later arrested for the shooting.
One Killed, One Injured in October 15 Northwest Side Homicide
Milwaukee Police are investigating a homicide and a non-fatal shooting that happened around 10:00 p.m. on October 15 in the 6600 block of W. Lisbon Avenue. During circumstances that have yet to be determined, two men ages 21 and 26 were shot. The 21-year-old man suffered an non-life threatening injury and drove to N. 67th Street and W. Center Street where he called for help. He is currently being treated at a local hospital for his injuries. The 26-year-old was discovered in an alley at that location suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He died on scene despite the lifesaving efforts of Milwaukee Police and Fire personnel. Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
Suspect Arrested in October 15 Northwest Side Shooting
Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 5:25 p.m. on October 15 in the 6100 block of N. 40th Street. A 54-year-old male victim was engaged in an altercation with his 65-year-old brother who shot him. He suffered a non-life threatening injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The brother remained on scene and was arrested by first responding officers. Our investigation is ongoing.
MPD Investigating October 15 West Side Homicide
Milwaukee Police are investigating a homicide that happened around 5:55 p.m. on October 15 in the 2400 block of N. 38th Street. A 24-year-old man from Kenosha suffered a fatal gunshot wound and died on scene despite the life saving efforts by Milwaukee Police and Fire personnel. The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
MPD Investigating October 15 North Side Shooting
Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 4:00 p.m. on October 15 in the 3000 block of N. 24th Place. The 27-year-old female victim from Milwaukee reported that she heard gunfire and then realized she had been shot. She is uncooperative with investigators who continue to seek the circumstances surrounding this incident. She suffered a non-life threatening injury and is currently at a local hospital for treatment. Our investigation is ongoing.
Known Suspect Sought in South Side Shooting
Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 11:10 p.m. on October 15 in the 900 block of W. Plainfield Avenue. During an altercation inside of a residence, a 48-year-old woman was shot and her 51-year-old husband was struck in the head with a pistol by an intruder. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries and are currently being treated at a local hospital. MPD is currently seeking a known suspect in connection with this crime.
Victim Struck by Gunfire Inside Home Following North Side Shooting
Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 7:30 p.m. on October 14 in the 1900 block of W. Brown Street. Our investigation has revealed that shots were fired during a disturbance two blocks from the shooting scene. One of those rounds struck a 56-year-old woman inside of her residence. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury. At this time, we believe that the victim was not related or the target of the shooting. Our investigation is ongoing.
