According to a criminal complaint filed Monday in Milwaukee County, a 44-year-old Milwaukee man was driving home from Burger King with his 5-year-old daughter in the back seat when he noticed a green van with gold trim tailgating his car in the 3400 block of N. 44th Street on July 25. Seeing this, he stopped his car so the van could pass.
Investigators say the van, driven by 35-year-old Anthony Jenkins of Milwaukee, drove around the car, and stopped in front of it.

Investigators say that the incident happened front of a house that had a surveillance camera running. When police reviewed the footage, they were able to track down the van through its owner.
Police arrested Jenkins at a home on the 5100 block of N. 39th Street. He had a black handgun in his front waistband, police said.
According to the criminal complaint, when police questioned Jenkins, he said the driver of the Chrysler 300 was driving too slowly, and then came to an abrupt stop on N. 44th Street. Jenkins told police that he heard someone yelling from inside the car, so he stopped his van.
The criminal complaint stated that Jenkins continued his story, saying that he and the man in the Chrysler 300 got into a verbal argument. During the course of the argument, he said, the man pulled out his own gun, prompting Jenkins to ask if he was going to shoot him. Jenkins told police he never saw the child in the car.
According to the criminal complaint, Jenkins told investigators that the Chrysler 300 pulled away, and that is when he pulled out his pistol and fired at the vehicle.
Jenkins has been charged with endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety. If convicted, Jenkins faces up to 20 years behind bars. He is currently being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond. He's due back in court on Aug. 6 for his preliminary hearing.
