MILWAUKEE (May 22, 2020) – Seeds of Health administration, teachers and families have been planning virtual graduation ceremonies for their almost 200 graduating seniors at Grandview, MC2, Tenor, and Veritas High Schools. The virtual graduation ceremonies are scheduled to air online for graduates and their families to enjoy through Facebook stream parties June 3, 4 and 5 at 5:00pm – the dates that graduation ceremonies had been originally scheduled to take place.

β€œWe want each of our students to know that this is a huge accomplishment and that their hard work is deserving of celebration, in whatever form possible,” said executive director Marcia Spector.

Seniors will have their portraits taken outdoors in cap and gown by a professional photographer on June 1 and 2 (rain dates June 3 and 4) at the beautiful Seeds of Health Elementary campus at 1445 S. 32nd Street. Students will also have the option to pose with their high school diplomas. A traditional balloon arch will be set up as a backdrop and students have been assigned time slots throughout the day to allow for safe social distancing.

Graduating seniors from all four Seeds of Health high schools have already retrieved their graduation caps and gowns from the schools in early May. These students have been asked to record a short 2-3 second video of themselves walking in cap and gown, acting as if they are walking at graduation and receiving their high school diploma. These short student videos will be included in the larger graduation ceremony video as the β€œstudent procession” portion.
Also included in the graduation videos will be a senior slideshow of photos, speeches from the principals, some students and parents, and special speeches from teachers to each student.

β€œWe think this is going to be memorable day for our Seeds of Health families and staff. While it will not be quite the same as a big, colorful, in-person celebration, the graduation videos will be a special way for our graduates to remember their important day for years to come,” said Spector.
