'Severe' Thunderstorms Possible In Milwaukee Metro Tonight: WI Weather

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee metro area residents should expect heavy rainfall and a chance for "severe" thunderstorms Monday night, the National Weather Service warned.

"Damaging straight-line winds and urban and small stream flooding are the main hazards," the NWS said.

Specifically, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected to traverse across Milwaukee starting around 2 a.m. "Strong straight-line winds and heavy rainfall are the primary hazards," the NWS added.

Meanwhile, high rainfall rates combined with saturated soils due to the recent heavy rainfall could lead to more flooding.

Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be severe. Low around 70. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny and hot, with a high near 91. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 78. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.
