1 Shot Near Marquette University: Police

Three teens demanded the victim's property and shot him following a verbal altercation, according to police.

MILWAUKEE, WI — A person was shot Wednesday near Marquette University, according to campus police.

The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. in the 700 block of West Wisconsin Avenue, police said.

Three teens approached a male who was not affiliated with Marquette and demanded property, according to police. After a verbal altercation, one of the teens shot the victim, and the three suspects fled east on foot, police said. They were last seen in the 600 block of West Clybourn Street, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call campus police at 414-288-6800.
