Shots Fired At Journal Sentinel Building, Window Washer Struck
Gunshots rang out in Downtown Milwaukee Thursday, striking the Journal Sentinel building and seriously injuring a man washing windows.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Gunshots rang out in Downtown Milwaukee Thursday, striking the Journal Sentinel building and seriously injuring a man washing windows.
Milwaukee Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Thursday, September 7th, around 1:30 p.m. at N. 4th and W. State Street.
According to police, a 30-year old man who was washing windows outside of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel building, 333 W. State St., was shot and suffered a serious injury.

The shooting suspect is an occupant of a passing vehicle, police are reporting. The investigation has initially revealed that another vehicle was the intended target and not the employee or the Journal Sentinel Building. Milwaukee police are continuing to investigate and seek the suspect and vehicle.

Ashley Luthern, crime and breaking news reporter tweeted Thursday afternoon that one of her editors distinctly heard four gunshots.

Photojournalist Mike DeSisti took several photos of the aftermath of the shooting, including a shattered window as a result of the incident. DeSisti also tweeted Thursday that the window washer was transported to the hospital via ambulance, and was conscious and alert at the time of transport.
