Suicidal Man Arrested in Milwaukee's Third Ward Following Standoff with SWAT Team
Milwaukee Police officers responded to the report of suicidal man armed with a gun in the 400 block of E. Menomonee Street

MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee Police officers responded to the report of suicidal man armed with a gun in the 400 block of E. Menomonee Street around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday.
The subject, a 31-year-old Milwaukee man, was found to be seated inside a car near that location. For the safety of citizens in the area, traffic was shut down on surrounding streets and the immediate area was cleared of pedestrians.

Officers attempted to negotiate with the subject, and when efforts were unsuccessful, they made a tactical approach to the vehicle, in a manner intended to minimize the chance of violence.

Their efforts were successful and the subject was taken into custody without injury to himself or any officers or citizens.
He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a condition unrelated to his arrest, and he will be facing charges for an incident of domestic violence which preceded this incident.
