Teen Arrested In Connection With Fatal Crash

The collision happened Thursday afternoon on Lincoln Memorial Drive at Water Tower Road in Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, IL — A 19-year-old man faces a felony charge for allegations he caused a crash that killed a 63-year-old man in Milwaukee on Thursday.

The teen, who authorities did not name, was driving south on Lincoln Memorial Drive in the area of Water Tower Road at about 12:59 p.m. on Thursday. The car driven by the older man was headed north on Lincoln Memorial and turning left onto Water Tower Road when the southbound vehicle struck the northbound vehicle, according to a news release from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle driven by the 63-year-old man was propelled into a light pole, according to authorities.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:25 p.m.

The 19-year-old man has since been arrested on a charge of negligent operation of a vehicle, which is a Class G felony. He could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
