Two Women, Dog, Missing After Boat Collision: Report

A 20-year-old woman, a 26-year-old woman and their dog were ejected from their boat in a serious marine collision.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI — Two women in their 20s and their dog are missing after authorities say a two-boat collision on Lake Winnebago late Saturday night led to multiple injuries.

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff's office, deputies responded Saturday just after 8:30 p.m. to Lake Winnebago for a two-vessel collision about one mile east of Paynes Point.

Officials say a 2017 26-foot Crownline E6XS boat with two people on board, and a 1992 20 foot Rinker Captiva with four people were involved in a collision.

According to officials, a 20-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman from Neenah were ejected from the Rinker Captiva along with their dog.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team aided by the Town of Vinland Fire Department, the Neenah/Menasha Fire Department, the Oshkosh Fire Department, and Theda Star assisted in the water rescue.
The other two occupants of the Rinker Captiva were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries by Gold Cross Ambulance.

The people who were on board the Crownline E6XS were treated on the shore by Gold Cross Ambulance.
As of the time of this report, the two women and their dog remain unaccounted for. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team will resume efforts throughout Sunday to locate the two missing women. The investigation remains ongoing.
