WI Snowstorm: What Commuters Should Expect Friday

MILWAUKEE — A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of southern Wisconsin through early Friday afternoon.

"Snowfall will continue into the early afternoon, with the heaviest snowfall expected now through noon, especially along the Wisconsin/Illinois border," the National Weather Service said. "Expect lowered visibility and snow accumulating on roads in the heaviest bands."

The Milwaukee metro has a high potential for snowfall accumulations of 4 inches or greater, with moderate potential for 6 inches or greater in other portions of southern Wisconsin.

Friday: Snow, mainly before 4pm. High near 35. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. North wind around 10 mph.

Saturday Night: Increasing clouds, with a low around 26. East wind around 5 mph.

Sunday: A 40 percent chance of snow after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

Sunday Night: A chance of snow before 1am, then a chance of rain and snow between 1am and 4am, then a chance of rain after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Windy, with a southeast wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
