A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of southern Wisconsin through early Friday afternoon.

MILWAUKEE — A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of southern Wisconsin through early Friday afternoon.
"Snowfall will continue into the early afternoon, with the heaviest snowfall expected now through noon, especially along the Wisconsin/Illinois border," the National Weather Service said. "Expect lowered visibility and snow accumulating on roads in the heaviest bands."

The Milwaukee metro has a high potential for snowfall accumulations of 4 inches or greater, with moderate potential for 6 inches or greater in other portions of southern Wisconsin.
