Wisconsin Men Carrying 16 Pounds Pot Dragged Trooper: Report

Authorities say two Milwaukee men were arrested with 16 pounds of pot after they dragged a Minnesota State Trooper on I-90.

BLUE EARTH, MN -- Two men from Milwaukee have been charged with dragging a Minnesota State Trooper during a traffic stop. Authorities say the two were arrested, and found 16 pounds of marijuana.

According to a KARE report, a criminal complaint filed in Fairbault County in Minnesota stated that State Trooper Doug Rauenhorst and his partner pulled over the two men on I-90 last Thursday.

According to the criminal complaint, the two men were from Milwaukee. Authorities say 28-year-old Anthony Hector Enriquez and 29-year-old Montrell Antonio Smith were charged with fleeing police, third-degree assault and felony drug possession in connection with last Thursday's incident. Smith was the driver, police said.

According to authorities, Trooper Rauenhorst was partially in the Jeep, when the driver punched the Trooper, and then pulled away.

Investigators say Rauenhorst was dragged along I-90 before he fell out of the Jeep. He was treated at a nearby hospital for his injuries. The two Milwaukee men were located a short time later and taken into custody in Albert Lea.

According to a KROC report, Smith and Enriquez were arraigned Monday and were held on $100,000 bail.

The two men were arraigned Monday and their bail was set at $100,000. Their next court appearance is Dec. 31.
