Wisconsin Spring Election Will Be Held On April 7

City of Milwaukee residents can now take part in drive-up early voting.

The Wisconsin Spring Election is coming up on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Polling places will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Find your polling place by entering your address at Find My Polling Place on the My Vote Wisconsin website.

State of Wisconsin election officials are urging residents to vote by returning their absentee ballots as soon as possible. Voters can mail their completed absentee ballot in the certificate envelope sent with the ballot. No postage is required. Allow 4 to 5 days for local delivery to be sure your ballot is received by the deadline. Ballots received after the deadline will not be counted. To be certain your ballot arrives in time, drop-off locations are available through election day, April 7, 2020.

City of Milwaukee residents can now take part in drive-up early voting. Arrive by car, receive your ballot, mark it, and hand it back to election officials. Lines are long, so please be patient.

Enter the line that begins on southbound Broadway between State Street and Kilbourn Ave. Follow the traffic instructions of election staff. Have your photo ID ready. Staff will meet you at your vehicle to view your photo ID, then issue and witness your absentee ballot. You must be a registered voter to participate.

Absentee Ballot Requests, New Drop-Off Options, and Extended Deadline to Return Ballots

NEW!! The window to request absentee ballots online has been extended to 5:00 P.M. on Friday, April 3, 2020.

NEW!! Deadline for absentee ballot return has been extended! If you have your absentee ballot or already made your request for a ballot, be sure to return your ballot soon. The deadline for absentee ballots to arrive by mail at your local election official has been extended to Monday, April 13, 2020. Allow 4 to 5 days for mailing.

NEW!! Witness signature option: The requirement of a witness signature on absentee ballots has been relaxed. Voters can avoid this requirement if they provide a statement with their absentee ballot saying they cannot safely obtain a witness's signature despite reasonable efforts to do so.

NEW!! City of Milwaukee voters can drop off ballots at five sites. Drop-off hours are 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. every day through April 7, 2020. Election Commission staff are available to witness voter signatures.

UPDATE: In-person early voting in the city of Milwaukee has been cancelled due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns but drive-up options are now available.
