Wisconsin vs Illinois Football: Everything You Need To Know

Both No. 7 Wisconsin and Illinois are coming off impressive victories, with each team winning in different fashion.

The Badgers, as they have done all year, stifled their opponent, Saturday’s victim being Northwestern, as they held the Wildcats to only one score in the 21-7 win. The Illini, on the other hand, scored 24 second-half points to win a 31-27 shootout over Michigan State.

  • Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, Wis.

Illinois will be hard-pressed to mimic its offensive heroics against a Wisconsin squad that is allowing under 14 points per game and has held all but one opponent under 20 points. The Badgers’ offense is always a work in progress, but against Northwestern, Wisconsin showed life on the ground as the team ran for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns, led by Corey Clement (106 yards and a score).

Illinois quarterback Jeff George Jr. made strides last week as he threw for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns, which complemented running back Kendrick Foster’s 146 yard and 2 score effort. George only completed 13 of 29 passes though, and will find the going much tougher against Wisconsin.
