13-Year-Old Drowns in Root River
Police say she was playing her nine-year-old cousin when she fell in and became submerged.

RACINE -- A 13-year-old Racine girl died after she reportedly drowned in the Root River near Island Park Friday afternoon.
According to a report by the Racine County Eye, the girl, who was unresponsive, was pulled out of the river near the south baseball diamond. First responders reportedly tried to resuscitate the girl, but their attempts were not successful.
Police say she was playing her nine-year-old cousin when she fell in and became submerged.
