15-Year-Old Arrested For Drunk Driving Had Infant In Car: Report
The infant was turned over to her grandparents with the approval of Racine County Human Services, police said.

RACINE COUNTY, WI -- Just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Mount Pleasant police officers were dispatched to the area of Meachem Road and Highway KR on a report of a reckless driver that was swerving all over the road and operating on the wrong side of the highway.
According to police reports, Mount Pleasant Officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Racine St. When officers made contact with the driver, they learned he was 15 years old and intoxicated. Police found bottles of Corona beer and a bottle of Bacardi Rum.
During the traffic stop, police said they found that an infant child was a passenger along with her mother, an 18-year-old Racine woman. Police reported the woman was also highly intoxicated and taken into custody for outstanding warrants and a charge of Child Neglect was referred to the Racine County District Attorney’s Office.

According to police reports, the driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on suspicion of his first drunk driving charge. He was then taken to Wheaton-Ascension hospital to conduct a legal blood draw. He was then released to his parents in accordance with Racine County Human Services, according to reports.
