2 Arrested After Wild 100 MPH Police Chase : Report

Authorities said in their report that Nero sped through Racine county for 27 minutes without being pursued by any law enforcement agencies.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Racine County say they arrested two people from Milwaukee who admitted to taking heroin mixed with fentanyl and also Xanax prior to leading a wild high-speed chase through Racine County at more than 100 miles per hour Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say Allen M. Nero was behind the wheel and Danni D. Geyer was the passenger in the vehicle - a 2001 Chevy Impala.

According to Racine County Sheriff's officials, local deputies received word from Kenosha Sheriff's officials that Kenosha deputies had broken off a pursuit of their vehicle, which fled north Sunday afternoon at more than 100 miles per hour.

According to authorities in Racine County, Nero turned off I-94 onto Highway 11. Authorities say they tracked Nero as he sped through the village of Raymond and Yorkville, ignoring traffic signs during their flight. Authorities said in their report that Nero sped through the county for 27 minutes without being pursued by any law enforcement agencies.

Racine County Sheriff's officials say a deputy tried conducting a traffic stop on Nero's vehicle near Highway U and 2 Mile Road in Yorkville, to no avail.

Several squads from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Sturtevant Police Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol set up on Highway 20 with spike strips ready to be deployed to deflate the Chevy’s tires. A Racine County Sheriff’s Sergeant successfully deployed spike strips deflating one of the Chevy’s tires.

Authorities said Nero continued driving east on Highway 20, crossing over the grass median into the west lanes. Deputies said Nero then turned north on Oakes Road in Mount Pleasant where he continued through the dead end of Oakes Road, and drove out into a field. The Chevy got stuck about 200 yards from the road, where Nero and Geyer got out and started running.

An arrest team with Sturtevant PD’s K-9 and a perimeter were set up to find the two suspects. At about 4 p.m., they were arrested without further incident.

According to Racine County Sheriff's officials, both admitted to ingesting heroin/fentanyl and Xanax. There were multiple items of drug paraphernalia found in the Chevy which tested positive for the presence of heroin and cocaine.

Authorities said Nero is being held at the Racine County Jail on suspicion of the following:

Felony fleeing and eluding.
OWI 3 rd offense.
Operating while revoked.
Recklessly endangering safety.
Obstructing/resisting.
Repeat drug offender.
Possession of heroin.
Possession of cocaine.
Possession of schedule IV drug.
Possession of drug paraphernalia.
Several traffic charges.

Geyer is being held at the Racine County Jail on the suspicion of the following:

Obstructing/resisting.
Repeat drug offender.
Possession of heroin.
Possession of cocaine.
Possession of schedule IV drug.
Possession of drug paraphernalia.
