2 High School Students, 1 Graduate Burn in Fiery Racine County Crash

Two Burlington High School students and one recent graduate who died have been identified after their vehicle crashed over the weekend.

BURLINGTON, WI — Burlington students and parents are in shock this morning upon the news that two high school students and a recent graduate died in a fiery car crash Sunday in Walworth County.

According to Walworth County Sheriff, Jason Davis, 17, the driver of the vehicle was a junior at Burlington High School. Landen Brown, 20, a passenger in the vehicle was a 2015 graduate. Hunter Morby, 17, was a passenger and a junior at Burlington high.

Authorities say that deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Cranberry Road near Berndt Road in the Town of Lyons in Walworth County. First responders found their vehicle against a tree, engulfed in flames.

According to media reports, first responders found three occupants inside the vehicle deceased and badly burned. A preliminary sheriff's investigation indicated their vehicle was headed east on Cranberry Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and the car struck a tree in the ditch on the north side of the road.

According to the Burlington School district officials, counselors will be available during school hours to help students and staff who need support.

A public gathering will be held Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the school gym for those seeking support.
