2 Survived Tuesday Night Crash, Pulled From Wrecked Jeep

A collision between two Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles Tuesday night led to an urgent rescue operation.

RACINE COUNTY, WI — Authorities in Racine County say two people are fortunate to be alive after they survived a rollover accident and had to be extricated from their severely-damaged vehicle on Tuesday night.

According to the Racine County Sheriff's office, at just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were called out to 76th Street and Highway G in the Village of Raymond for a report of a rollover accident.

Authorities learned it was a multiple-vehicle accident with people trapped inside at least one of the vehicles. Sheriff's officials said the first arriving deputies on scene discovered an overturned vehicle with significant roof damage and two people trapped inside.

Deputies said the two occupants of the vehicle were conscious, breathing and talking with first responders. The two occupants of this vehicle were extricated with the assistance of fire and rescue personnel and transported to a nearby hospital.

The occupants of the second vehicle involved were also transported to the hospital due to their injuries.

Authorities say the driver of a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee pulling a small wooden trailer, and was stopped at the stop sign on Highway G at 76th Street. This Jeep then proceeded west into the
intersection, crossing the path of another Jeep Grand Cherokee, resulting in the collision. Investigators said the Jeep Grand Cherokee had the right-of-way.

Authorities say the driver of the gray Jeep was issued a citation for failing to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign.
