3 Crashes Claim 5 Lives Over 2018 Memorial Day Weekend: Report
Two couples are dead after three crashes claimed five lives, and a shooting claimed a sixth over Memorial Day weekend 2018.

WISCONSIN — Memorial Day weekend 2018 saw its share of tragedy this year after three accidents claimed five lives and a shooting claimed another.
Monday
One man is reported dead after a shooting in Kern Park in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood on Monday, Milwaukee police are reporting.

According to police, at about 2 p.m. Monday, area residents enjoying the outdoors in their neighborhood reported hearing a gunshot.
According to a WTMJ report, a resident reported watching an apparent gunshot victim run toward the street, only to collapse. That event was followed by two men running after him, screaming "don't touch him," according to the report.

A crowd of bystanders converged on the scene out of curiosity and a desire to help, according to the report.
Police have yet to reveal any details from their investigation and the identity of the victim.
Sunday
Authorities in Racine County say a man and woman are both dead after the vehicle they were driving crashed into the vacant South Shre Fire Department building on the 3800 block of South Shore Ave.
According to police, just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, a nearby resident called police after hearing a loud crash. Within three minutes of the call, officers were on-scene.
The man was airlifted to a nearby hospital via Flight for Life. Authorities say the woman died from her injuries on-scene. The man later succumbed to his injuries Monday morning, police said.
Sunday
A 31-year-old from Rice Lake, Wis. died Sunday night after authorities say the truck he was driving slid into a ditch and rolled over several times.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said the accident happened just after 5 p.m. Sunday on County Highway SS in Barron County near Rice Lake.
Authorities said the man's vehicle was a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado K150. They also said that alcohol was a factor in the crash and that the man was not wearing his seatbelt.
Authorities said the driver was dead upon their arrival at the accident scene. The man's name is being withheld pending notification of authorities.
Friday
The Memorial Day 2018 weekend got off to a deadly start in southeastern Wisconsin after a husband and wife were killed in a three-vehicle accident Friday night, according to authorities.
On Friday, May 25 just before 5 p.m., the Racine County Sheriff's Office responded to a three-vehicle accident on County Highway C at 59th Drive in the Town of Yorkville, in
Racine County.
According to a Racine Journal Times report, ahusband and wife from Racine County died in the crash after the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a crash also involving two cars.
Authorities are reporting that couple's names are not available to the public, pending family notifications.
This accident remains under investigation. The Racine County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Union Grove-Yorkville Fire and Rescue.
