7th Annual College Resource Fair For Parents, Students Coming Up

The PowerUp College and Resource Fair will be held Oct. 27 at UW-Parkside. Here are the workshop offerings for this wide-ranging event:

RACINE, WI -- Parents and students getting ready for college have the chance to learn more about paying for college, getting financial aid, functioning in a new campus environment and how to say goodbye after years of living at home.

The PowerUp College and Resource Fair started seven years ago at Lincoln Middle School and has expanded to give the parents and students more educational opportunities to pursue after high school. On Saturday, Oct. 27, the fair will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 900 Wood Road.

The resource fair exposes high school juniors, seniors and their families to area colleges and universities and teaches them about financial resources that can help make college a reality. Students will be able to meet, network and discuss future goals with college and university representatives from the region.
