Alternate Side Parking Begins Thursday in Racine/Sturdevant
Be mindful of what side of the street you're parked on from 2 to 6 a.m. Christmas and New Year exempt.

(Originally publish on Racine County Eye) RACINE, WI — Winter weather has brought the start of alternate side parking, which will be enforced seven days a week in the City of Racine and the Village of Sturtevant, the Racine County Eye reports. When either community declares a snow emergency, all vehicles must be off the streets to give snowplows and emergency vehicles better access to area roads.
From 2 to 6 a.m., vehicles can only be parked on side of the street that corresponds to the date; odd addresses for odd days and even addresses for even days.
Violators will face a $20 ticket in Racine. There are exceptions. City residents get a reprieve on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
