1. Mt. Pleasant OKs contract with Police Officer's Association, closes TID (tncontentexchange.com) — Mount Pleasant's Village Board has approved a new police contract that boosts officer pay through 2030 and aims to improve recruitment and retention in the local department. Trustees also voted to close Tax Incremental District 1 next month, sending remaining funds back to the Village of Mount Pleasant and other taxing bodies, and advanced several administrative and development-related items.
   

2. Kenosha residents want pause on Microsoft's data center development (ibmadison.com) — Microsoft's massive data center buildout in Mount Pleasant is drawing growing pushback from nearby Kenosha-area residents worried about energy use, water demand, noise, and environmental impacts. One group is urging a pause and even a referendum as the village has already approved plans that could allow up to 15 additional data centers over the next decade.
   

3. Parent trips Racine youth football player after rushing field (fox6now.com) — During a youth football game at Case High School in Mount Pleasant, a parent ran onto the field and tripped a 9-year-old player, leading to a disorderly conduct citation. The child was able to get up and is reportedly doing fine, while the Milwaukee team has banned the parent and local coaches are calling for stronger accountability to keep kids safe.
   

4. 2 dead after head-on crash on Highway 31 in Caledonia (racinecountyeye.com) — A 77-year-old Mount Pleasant man and an 83-year-old Caledonia woman died after his car crossed the center line on Highway 31 in Caledonia and hit another vehicle head-on. Caledonia police and Wisconsin State Patrol are still reconstructing the crash and asking witnesses to come forward as they determine whether any citations will follow.
