2 Men Implicated In Armed Robbery Arrested: Police

Police say one of the two men had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a homicide in Illinois.

RACINE COUNTY, WI -- Authorities in Kenosha County say that both men implicated in an armed robbery in Racine County that led to a police pursuit into Kenosha County late Tuesday have been arrested.

The first man was caught around 8 a.m. when he was found by authorities riding a bicycle on I-94. The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department also said they arrested the second man just before noon Wednesday when he asked to use a telephone at a business near where the Tuesday night police chase ended. Police say one of the two men had a warrant out for his arrest in connection with a homicide in Illinois.

The wild sequence of events began Tuesday at just after 10 p.m. in Racine County when Mount Pleasant Police officers were dispatched to Willkomm Mobil at 6840 Washington Ave. for a report of an armed robbery.

According to police reports, the suspects fled south on I-94 in a red Chevrolet pickup truck, only to get cornered by police in Kenosha County in the parking lot of a strip mall along the interstate. Police say they disabled the car, which was reported stolen out of Aroma Park, Illinois. The two men ran from the car into a wooded area.

Police then set up a perimeter, and police dogs were brought to the scene in an attempt to track the suspects.

Kenosha County officials learned one of the men had been injured at about 3:45 a.m. when a Village of Bristol resident called the police, saying that he fired gunshots at a man who was trying to break into his home on the 14600 block of Wilmot Road.

Authorities have yet to release the names of the two men who have been arrested. Stick with Patch as we continue to follow this story.
