Duke Nukem Nuked

The long, long, long-awaited video game Duke Nukem Forever is getting trashed in the reviews. Even mild-gamers know Duke Nukem as a legendary game that transformed how we moved pixels around screens 15 years ago, and then left the world waiting for a promised sequel for more than a decade.

The result? It's a mess. 

Wired calls it "a bloated relic from a past era that we left behind for good reason."

PSX Extreme laments: "the game is ugly, tedious, monotonous, and poorly designed."

GameSpy tries to like it, but concludes: "One way or another, you can't deny that this game just isn't very much fun."

The reviews are bad, bad news for Take-Two Interactive, the company that released DNF with expectations of massive sales. Today, Take-Two's stock tumbled and the company's fortunes seem nuked for good.
