This April weekend brings some entertainment last chances and first chances. Choose from live theater, music, art and even stargazing. Come along with Real Racine for these ideas.

Theater last chances.  Time is running out to see two local theater productions. "The Three Musketeers" action adventure has four performances from Friday April 19 through Sunday, April 21 at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave.  Call 262-633-4218 or visit www.racinetheatre.org for tickets and showtimes. At the Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth St., the Over Our Head Players present the historical drama "Taking Sides" Friday through Sunday. Call 262-632-6802 or visit www.overourheadplayers.org

Variety revue first chances.  You can be among the first to see the new Penguin Players show "Livin' La Vida Penguins" this Friday through Sunday the Eagles Club, Hamilton and Main street. The Penguins are joined by the Academy Performing Arts Company Troupe to present music, dance and comedy in a cabaret setting. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 3 p.m. Sunday. Doors open 45 minutes in advance. Tickets are $9 at the door. The Penguins will be performing next weekend, too.

Walk with art.  Saturday looks like a great day for local art. The West Racine Art Walk runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with artists and art displays in several stores and an art raffle at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3319 Washington Ave.

A rockin' benefit Saturday.  The Fourth Annual Rock for Vets starts at 5 p.m. at the Hiawatha Bar, 9809 Durand Ave., Sturtevant. A benefit for local veterans assistance programs, the event features seven bands on two stages plus a raffle. Tickets are $15 at the door. Visit www.facebook.com/RockforVets.WI

Symphony finale.  The Racine Symphony Orchestra makes a special end to the 2012-13 season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Ave. Called "Laurino Goes Italian," the program features selections from Italian composers selected by Artistic Director Laurino Pasquale. What's really special is the winner of the Young Artists Competition, clarinetist Jonathan Nelson of Waterford will perform with the RSO as well more many other youth. Stargazing anyone?  The Racine Astronomical Society holds its first public open house of the year from 8-11 p.m. Saturday at the Modine-Benstead Observatory, 112 63rd Drive in Yorkville. Club members will share telescope views of the stars and planets, weather permitting. Please call ahead to 262-878-2274.
