Physical Therapy clinic makes donation to help fund youth sports; New private practice is a destination for sports injury treatment

Physical Therapy & Rehab Specialists of Kenosha recently partnered with the Puma Baseball Academy to help identify athletes at risk for potential injuries.

The Kenosha community’s newest physical therapy clinic is hitting a home run when it comes to giving back. Physical Therapy & Rehab Specialists of Kenosha (PTRS) recently partnered with the Puma Baseball Academy to administer sport-specific assessments to the club’s youth athletes. These comprehensive tests measured everything from range of motion to strength, helping to identify athletes at risk for potential injuries, and keep these future All-Stars in the game. Now, PTRS Kenosha is helping to ensure the program’s future success by making a donation of $300. The money will help fund the purchase of new equipment for the team’s catchers.

“This means a lot to us,” said Owner Mike Medel. “We’ll be able to buy more equipment and attend more tournaments. We were glad to partner [with PTRS Kenosha] because of their experience with baseball and their attention to detail. We don’t look to just partner with anybody.”

The brand new North Side clinic – which opens April 1 at 2717 18th St. – is proving to be quite a hit in the community themselves by showing a dedication to the city’s sport-enthusiast crowd. The clinic also recently teamed up with the Kenosha Running Club to offer a guest lecture from Clinic Director Jeanette De Witt, PT, MPT, LAT, ATC. De Witt spoke about injury prevention and the different ways physical therapy can help keep runners pounding the pavement.
