Speaker's Briefing for April 12, 2013

The Assembly debated and passed several bills designed to streamline government regulations.

I’m Representative Robin Vos and this is the Speaker’s Briefing.

This week we heard the State of the Tribes address. It is a chance for us to come together and learn more about important issues facing Wisconsin’s tribes. It’s essential that we maintain good government-to-government communication to find areas of shared interest. While we may not agree on every issue, we can agree to listen to each other’s concerns and work together on problems facing the state.

After the speech the Assembly convened to take up several issues that dealt with streamlining government regulations. The bills we debated will help our economy take advantage of the growing power transmission industry, ensure fairness for small community banks, and make it easier for local governments to work together on water issues. They all passed with bipartisan support.
