  • Sgt. Shawn Leonard, Mount Pleasant Police Department: "Theft from motor vehicles / stolen vehicles. Last night and into this morning the Mount Pleasant Police Department took 2 stolen vehicle reports and several theft from motor vehicles. Surrounding agencies also took similar complaints. The suspects are going into unlocked vehicles and using the garage door opener from inside the car to enter the garage. We had similar cases last winter where they entered the home while residents were sleeping and stole items from the home. (it is unknown if they are the same suspects) Several of these calls last night took place in area of Old Spring and 90th St. A vehicle was also stolen on CTH V. Please remember to take your keys out of your vehicle, lock your vehicle and lock all the doors to your home.
